Stress Reduction Techniques
Using Thoughts and Goals

Stress reduction techniques develop through certainty in our thought process using the power of positive thinking. As long as thoughts about money, work, and relationships are uncertain, that’s what they will be, uncertain. It was my experience that the uncertainty of life was very stressful. This was coming true because of the way I was thinking. Allowing my mind to race out of control would create negative “self talk.” It’s a “Run Away” type of thinking that doesn’t take any skill or discipline.

“We live in a thought world, which is part of a thought universe”

Wallace Wattles 1910

Thoughts as Tools

The Science of Getting Rich written by Wallace Wattles in 1910 is the science of making anything you want come true! This book was the key source for the popular topic today called "The Law of Attraction." It is also, without doubt, the foundation to smart goal setting. With efficient action you can create anything you want.

Your stress will dissolve!

Rebbecca Fine offers it free to download. She also did a wonderful job of recording the book on CD. Her forum, that runs in 139 countries, has changed countless lives and is among the best of stress reduction techniques.

When you start thinking in a "certain way" good things happen! When you are stressed out and worrying about something, you feel bad. During your adversity and stressful times there are solutions and opportunities. Discovering the solutions will build your confidence!

If you feel stressed, you are thinking about what you don’t want!

Thoughts for Money

During the winter of 2006 our family encountered financial challenges. In need of more money, we were doing everything we could to keep our girls in college. Our financial goal setting skills were taken to the test.

They had to change!

Focused on the methods in the book, gratitude became part of my every day thought process. Being genuinely grateful developed as a useful stress reduction technique. With consistent practice, your worries will fade!

For example: Begin your day thanking God or your "Higher Power" for three things you already have. Stay consistent for one full month. You will begin to feel Grateful! This will develop as one of your stress reduction techniques.

Start your day with positive thoughts. The power of positive thinking will block the negative thoughts that may steer you in the wrong direction.

You will feel great!

Money for Thoughts

April, the following year, we received a large check as a gift from a family member. It was necessary for them to “Gift” money as a tax break! Was it because of the way I was thinking? Coincidence is part of life, and this could have been just one of those things.

A month later we found out that we were recipients to an inheritance from an older aunt. We received another check! Was this another coincidence? Was I really attracting this? It was hard for me to believe that you could just change your thoughts and money would come.

You cannot wish for money, and expect it to just appear!

However, with clear, certain thoughts followed by efficient action, you can start a powerful process that will enable you to achieve your dreams. The true benefits from these stress reduction techniques are the certainty and confidence that you will develop!

There is a “dual” process that needs to be active. Your thoughts must be constantly focused on what you want and you must take efficient action.

Without the "action" part, nothing will happen!

Change in Thinking

Stress reduction techniques are plentiful! The key is to take your negative thoughts and change the focus to what you want. The exact opposite of what you don’t want. For example, if you’re thinking of being broke, it will get worse.

Turn the thought around. In place of the negative thoughts, I started asking myself: “How can I increase my income by 25% next year?” I started concentrating on the question, instead of worrying about the money.

That fall I continued working towards what I wanted. I did get some work and paid the bills on time! I persisted with all the knowledge I had to make key contacts and work towards what I wanted.

The thought process that worked:

1 - Be grateful for what you already have.

2 - Focus on what you want.

3 - Persist with relentless faith until you have it.

Find and focus on what you want. Continue to visualize and practice the process.

October of that year I received a phone call to go to work! It involved running drilling tools that I was proficient at operating. The work involved driving to remote locations and living in motels. I would show up early on every job to learn about other tools that were involved.

“Every thought of form, held in thinking Substance, causes the creation of the form, but always, or at least generally, along lines of growth and action already established.”

Wallace Wattles 1910

The Action Part

After a month in the field, the boss requested that I go to a class then come in the main office for a meeting. That day they placed me on a job, and offered me a position that enabled me to reach my goal!

Did this happen because of the way I was thinking?

Did I attract this?

When the thoughts about money and work changed; money and work changed! Soon the work and money started coming. I attracted work and money! My stress and anxiety about money and work started to fade! Concentrating on an achievement is one of the most powerful stress reduction techniques that will build your certainty and confidence.

It guides your thoughts towards what you want!

The way you think and guide your thoughts is the first step to reducing stress. Events that happen around you are just events. You are the one that assigns a meaning to the event. If you allow an event to control you, that’s exactly what will happen.

The science Wallace Wattles writes about is truly fascinating! Over 100 years ago he knew about the best stress reduction techniques on earth. Today they have "re-packaged" the concept and call it:

“The Law of Attraction”.

"THOUGHT is the only power which can produce tangible riches from the Formless Substance. The stuff from which all things are made is a substance which thinks, and a thought of form in this substance produces the form."

Wallace Wattles 1910
